Mariners Museum has been awarded the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) - Chesapeake Watershed Investments for Landscape Defense (WILD) grant! This grant aims to eradicate invasive species in 100 acres of our Mariners' Park to increase native insect populations to support 32 imperiled bird species. Throughout the areas of the Park, volunteers will assist Mariners' staff in removing a variety of invasive plants such as English ivy, stilt grass, privet, and more.
